Develop Free Wordpress.com Free Blog
Continuing our journey from the earlier post on the ‘Explore Wordpress.com Part-1′, today we are going to focus on the development of our free blog at www.AskJayAuthor.wordpress.com.
Step 1: Go back to your free blog admin page i.e. in my case it will be http://AskJayAuthor.wordpress.com/wp-admin/. Once you reach to this page, you need to log in to your blog.
Step 2: Once you log in, you will reach to the dashboard. And now go to ‘Category’ link on the dashboard page. Here is the snapshot for you:
Click on the Category link to create categories for your blog. So for this blog, I am creating some of the following categories:
- Keyword Research
- Blog Resources
- PPC Resources
- Home Biz Resources
- Money Management
- Credit Management
- Eco Tips
I will expand the above category as I move along with the development of this blog. The intent here is to use this blog for providing information on various topics. Another major focus will be that any visitor or blog reader can ask a question here on the running theme which I will share on this blog.
Did you notice how easy it was to create the above categories? You are on your way!
Step 3: Go back to dashboard and click on the page hyperlink. You will notice that there is already a page titled ‘About’ which is published by the Wordpress.com by default. You should click on this page link and modify the page to communicate your intent of this blog.
Now just modify the content as you want and don’t forget to press update button!
Step 4: Go back to dashboard and click on the post hyperlink. You will find that wordpress.com has already create a default post for you titled ‘hello world’. Click on this blog post and edit it as you edited the blog page. Once you are done with your first post writing, don’t forget to put the tags. For this blog post, I decided to use the category tags as I am using these categories in my first post.
Now you are almost done and you can save your edited page and post.
It’s your turn now to follow the above steps and enjoy your first blog.
