Explore Wordpress.com

If you have not read Explore Wordpress Part-1, then I strongly recommend you to read that blog post first before you read this one. This post is in continuation of the earlier post where you and I explored the wordpress.com together. So once again we will do this together. If you are not in front of your computer, then I suggest you to bookmark this page so that you can do this again when you go back home or at your office to do this along with me.

Step 1: Go to Wordpress.com.

Step 2: You will notice a box where it says "Express yourself. Start a blog." and then ‘Sign up Now’ button.

Wordpress.com sign up page

Press sign up now button. You will be taken to the following page:

Wordpress.com Sign up form

This is just one step form to get the blog. Put in your username, password and then confirm the password, your email address and check the legal flotsam box after reading the terms of service. After completing the above steps, scroll down and you will find ‘Next’ button and press that button. As you press it and if that name is available, you will get your blog for free. I typed in ‘askjayauthor’ in the username, so the URL of my blog is www.AskJayAuthor.wordpress.com.

Once the sign up is complete, there will be an email sent to you for the activation of your new free blog.

Step 3: Once you log in to wordpress.com account, you can go to ‘Appearance’ on the left panel go to ‘themes’ to select whatever theme you like. Here is what I have selected:

Askjayauthor.wordpress.com free blog

Isn’t it exciting that in few minutes I got the blog which looks very professional and above all it is free?

I suggest you to make yourself familiar with it now so play with it.

Wishing you happy blogging,

Jay Author
