What is a Blog?
What is a Blog?
So what is a blog? Why are we talking about this topic?
My aim is to start the blogging with basics so that we can build blogs together. Are you excited that you are going to build blogs? I hope you didn’t say, give me a break!
Well, let me give you some definitions of blogs first to satisfy your intellect hunger. So here are the definitions along with its’ sources:
Sussex Learning Network – A blog is a website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order. Blogs often provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic.
Wikipedia – A blog (a contraction of the term "Web log") is a Web site, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.
Wiktionary – A personal or corporate website in the form of an online journal, with new entries appearing in sequence as they are written, especially as dealing with reflections or opinion, and typically incorporating links to other articles.
So what is a Blog anyway? Are you still confused?
A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog.
